About our company

John Carpenter was a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America. He was a goldsmith, gemologist, artist, and jeweler. In 1983 he founded Premier Gem Consultants Inc and for the next three decades, he served local jewelry stores as well as his own customers, in everything from setting stones and resizing rings to designing and crafting custom pieces.


Through the years John listened to customers and jewelry store associates alike complain about how metal ring guards scratch rings, pinch fingers, and break easily, in the hopes that he could suggest a better option. As there wasn’t a better option available, John set out to make one. We introduced our first ring size reducing product in 2011. It was so well received that John went on to invent more. We have since sold ring sizing products to thousands of individuals and jewelry stores across the country and around the world.
